Jason Strand, MD
I was born and raised in Wyoming. I fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming a physician in 2006. I have been practicing in Wyoming ever since. I am board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. Medicine is truly my calling. I feel so blessed and privileged to be a physician. This relatively new practice model of DPC (direct primary care) is going to allow me to practice medicine the way I have always envisioned. I value my relationship with my patients. You are my family. I chose family medicine because of the magic that can exist in that space. Traditional practice incentivizes efficiency at the expense of quality and at the expense of developing relationships.
DPC allows for a small practice, reduced overhead, time for each patient, time to develop my expertise, time to get to know my patients, extended visits or time-saving visits by text or phone or even home visits! I am excited for the opportunity to start this cutting-edge style of practice that truly gets back to the roots of medicine putting the patient first!
My DPC office hours will also allow me more time with my children. Many of you have asked about them from time to time. I would like to introduce them to you here:
Most of you know my semi-celebrity Emily. She is 14. She loves running and music. She has started her own YouTube channel (Delightful Dumplings) with one of her best friends..
Avery is 12. She loves socializing, soccer and math. She is incredibly creative and loves doing new projects…she is the source of anything missing, broken or re-purposed at our house!
Bode is 9. He loves golf, math and soccer. He started with the first class of DLI Spanish at Park Elementary. He and his cousin (Caleb; Matt’s son) are inseparable.
Giving is important to our family and always has been. A minimum of 5% of my earnings from this practice will be going to the two charities below. I hope that you will consider them in your giving as well. If you ever have questions as to why these two charities, please ask!
